This sewing pattern is designed to fit Build-A-Bear plush toys approximately 16-inches tall, and should easily fit Duffy the Disney Bear, ShellieMay, and other pot-belly plush toys — perhaps with minor adjustments. This sewing pattern is also designed for use with stretch knit fabrics, to ensure a snug fit.  Resulting fit may be undesirable when sewn using fabrics that are not engineered to stretch, including woven cotton or muslin, flannel, denim, canvas, nylon, satin, silk, brocade, wool, and others.

A standard “cotton jersey knit” fabric will stretch in at least two directions, which is perfectly suitable for this sewing pattern! I also recommend “high performance” knits, which include lycra, spandex, and similar materials in a wide variety of lustrous sheens and hues (meaning colors).  There are lots of great fabrics at your local store, but I also recommend using recycled clothing from inside your own home.  Because everyone has a favorite memory-laden T-shirt, or else a few workout garments that are a bit worn out (or no longer fit).

Recommended only for those with intermediate to advanced sewing skills.  Package includes only a paper pattern printed on a single oversize page.  Please refer to relevant blog posts for sewing tips, if you need any assembly instructions.  Step-by-step written instructions and/or diagrams are not included with the printed pattern.  Therefore, this project is not recommended for beginners.

As seen in these photographs, this pattern is intended to create customized fashions for your bear, or a toy of similar size and shape.  Individuals results may vary.  If you choose to fit a toy that is significantly different from the one for which this pattern was designed, your results may not resemble these photographs.  Build-a-Bear plush toys are not included with your purchase from this site.  Star Wars themed accessories are also not included, nor any fabric materials.  Your purchase includes only a paper pattern printed on a single oversize page.
